At long last yesterday I finally had the opportunity to visit the new Cooper's Oak Boonville location. This spacious building (previously JC Penny's) on Main street is bright and inviting, tons of windows to enjoy the busy down town passer by's. Unlike their Higbee location, they offer food, coffee and desserts in addition to their wide selection of wines.
Jen was very friendly and took great care of us as we sampled a few wines. New to me was their Zinfandel. Deep red almost black in color with spicy pepper undertones. I am a BIG fan of Zin's. The dark Bing cherry flavors were bursting yet well balanced. I enjoyed this wine very much!
Cooper's Oak also hosts O'Fallon Beer in their tasting rooms and has worked with the folks in St. Charles to develop a new DEER BEER. This fun and flavorful beer compliments their biggest selling wine, My Sweet Deer.
Boonville is a great historic river town with one more reason to visit! Cheers!
