When my cell phone caller ID shows up “Bret Fahrmeier” I know that something is going in Lexington at Three Trails Winery. And today was no exception. Catching up on their new promotional materials and upcoming events at the winery, Bret shared that they just finished bottling their sweet raspberry wine. “It tastes just like fresh picked raspberries” Bret said.
Fahrmeier Family Farms is known for their fresh vegetables and herbs, fresh fruit, huge greenhouses, plants, flowers and 50 acre pumpkin patch. In late 2008 they added a winery to their operation. Brother’s Brandon and Bret work with Ohio Native Kristofer Sperry to make your farm experience one of a kind.
In January of this year I had the pleasure of serving wine at the Agritourism conference with Bret (see photo above.) He introduced me to their wines and I naturally found a favorite. Their “Lewis” is a Cabernet Sauvignon/Syrah blend. It’s delightful!
Now that spring is here, I’m anxious to visit the Three Trails Winery at Fahrmeier Farms, enjoy some produce, pick up some fresh herbs and taste that raspberry wine. Until then-keep the calls coming Bret!
